12 Blogs of Christmas: Day 3 - Hot Chocolate for everyone

Hi everyone,
I love hot chocolate and this is the best time of year to enjoy some I have been experimenting and looking up to see if there are any other ways to drink it other tasty ways to drink it, and I think you will be surprised at what I have found and I really hope you try at least one of these because they are really delicious.
So drink some hot chocolate and . . . Happy Christmas!

So I have 6 different ways you can have your hot chocolate this christmas and I hope you try them all because I can guarantee they are all delicious.

Peppermint

240ml of milk
50g of chocolate chips
1 tsp peppermint extract

Add everything to the saucepan and heat until chocolate has melted and is the desired temperature, don't boil or it will burn the milk. Add a little cool milk if it is too hot, squirt on some whipped cream, pop in a candy cane and you are ready for some delicious minty hot chocolate.

Orange

240ml of milk
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tbsp orange zest
70g dark chocolate

Add everything to the saucepan and heat until chocolate has melted and is the desired temperature, don't boil or it will burn the milk. Also when you have heated the hot chocolate you may want to strain it as the orange zest tends to sink to the bottom so you get a nice big mouthful of it at the end.

Peanut Butter

120ml/1 cup of milk
1/4 cup double cream
55g milk chocolate
3tbsp smooth peanut butter

Add everything to the saucepan and heat until chocolate has melted and is the desired temperature, don't boil or it will burn the milk. Depending on which peanut butter you get you may have to stain this one to get some of the lumps out, my smooth peanut butter still had a few little bits in it.

Pumpkin Spice

240ml/1 cup of milk
1 tsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp unsweetened dark cocoa

Add everything to the saucepan and heat until chocolate has melted and is the desired temperature, don't boil or it will burn the milk. This one is more spice than chocolate so if you make this one don't expect a really chocolatey flavour its more of a christmas spice hot chocolate.

Nutella

240ml/1 cup of milk
2 tbsp nutella
1 tbsp cocoa
pinch of salt

Add everything to the saucepan and heat until chocolate has melted and is the desired temperature, don't boil or it will burn the milk. This one is really indulgent it has a really intense chocolate flavour.

Caramel

1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup of double cream
70g milk chocolate
3 tbsp caramel sauce

Add everything to the saucepan and heat until chocolate has melted and is the desired temperature, don't boil or it will burn the cream. This is really chocolatey and has a subtle hint of caramel if you want a more intense caramel flavour I suggest adding a few drops of caramel flavouring to the mix.

I hope you have fun making these hot chocolates and can find one in here for every chocolate and non-chocolate lover.
